Hannah's 1st Trip to the Beach

We packed up for a long holiday weekend and took Hannah to the beach. We have been wanting to take her for a while because we thought that she was at a perfect age to really enjoy it...and we were so right! She had the time of her life and loved every second of it. She even woke up at 3:00 a.m. one morning and said, "Daddy, lets go to the beach!"

Alice Anne stayed back home in Texas. Since she loves her naps so much we thought it would be a little tough to bring her along.

Warning***Picture overload!! I had a really hard time picking pictures to post, so there are A LOT!!!

Hannah doing her favorite thing...building sand castles. She could have done this all day long!

We stayed at a condo in La Jolla. There was a great little neighborhood parade on the morning of July 4th and Hannah loved it! It was better than Halloween! She waved and yelled "HI" to everyone that passed her hoping that they would throw her some candy. She almost got run over a couple of times because nothing was going to stand in her way of getting the candy!!
Picking candy up off of the street well after the parade was over!

Eating her first ever cotton candy! Lucky for us she wasn't a big fan!!

After the parade, we headed to the beach and camped out there ALL day so that we could have a good seat for the firework show on the beach

Feeding the seagulls her sandwich
She loved walking on the beach with daddy! This girl was the hit of the show! As the music played before the fireworks started, she stood up and put on a big show for everyone, dancing to the music...purse, bracelets and all!!
We were really surprised that she wasn't scared of the fireworks at all! Every time one went off she said, "Ooooh, that one's my favorite!!!"

They were intensely watching a fishing boat and I think daddy was really wishing he was on it :) Silly Girl!!!
Eating breakfast on the beach before the parade.
She loved looking for seashells!!
This picture doesn't seem right without our sweet little Alice Anne in it.
She thought it was hilarious being covered up with sand!
Oh, the water was cold!! And she tried to con mommy into getting into it a million times and then she would die laughing as if she pulled a fast one on me and I didn't know it was cold!
Down in the hole!

She loved chasing the birds!

We went to a wild animal park that was incredible! There was a zoo area and then we got to go on a little "African Safari" and see all sorts of exotic animals. It really was incredible!!

Kisses for daddy on the carousel

It was such a fun trip and we're headed to pick Alice Anne up this afternoon. We missed her so much and can't wait to see her! Hannah was soooo good the whole time! She stayed up REALLY late every night, but never whined a bit! So sweet...when we got to the airport yesterday to go home, we were telling Hannah that we were leaving to go back to Dallas and we were just talking about everything that we did. She said, "Thank you daddy and mommy! It was Awesome!!" Seriously? I don't know where she learned the word awesome, but Brett and I just looked at each other and smiled!
