Meredith, Lane and I got back late Sunday night from a fabulous trip to NYC! We almost didn't know what to do with ourselves...we were able to stay up as late as we wanted because we could sleep as late as we wanted; we shopped non-stop for 2 1/2 days and just strolled around NY without having to pass out snacks in strollers to keep babies happy; we ate fabulous dinners and got to sit and chat as long as we wanted without having to worry about a baby crying or needing to go home to go to bed; we got to see Jude Law in Hamlet and although it was long and really extra long when you can't sit still and there's a mean old lady behind you that won't let you play on your phone, it was nice to just sit without any distractions; and we had lots of good girl talk!!
While I was gone, Gigi, Grandpop and Daddy held down the fort with our 2 little princesses. The girls had a blast and Hannah hasn't stopped talking about everything they played. I was so excited to get them up Monday morning and they both about jumped out of their bed to give me hugs! Hannah is old enough to understand that I'll be back in a couple of days, but I always wonder what is going through little Alice Anne's head when I just disappear one day. She literally hasn't taken her eyes off of me since I've been home. Love those girls!
Brett was by himself with the girls on Sunday and he took them to a princess birthday party at chuck e cheese. I would have paid to have been a fly on the wall when daddy was dressing up his princesses!! I so wish he had taken a picture of them, but since I don't have a picture this is what Alice Anne wore: a size 6 month (yes, she wears 18-24 mo) white halter top that probably barely covered her chest, Hannah's tinkerbell skirt that is LONG, 1 yellow princess shoe and 1 blue princess shoe (because he said he couldn't find 2 of the same one) and one of Hannah's BIG pink bows in her hair!! He said he held her the whole time so that he could hold the skirt on her because it was so big it kept falling off!! Way to go, Daddy...you did good!!! Who would have guessed 10 years ago that Brett would be dressing his little girls up and taking them to a princess party...but he absolutely loves it and is the best little girl daddy we could have ever asked for! He wouldn't have wanted it any other way!
